The 100 Year Plan for America is basically a list of goals that America can/will/shall do in the next Century. For instance, if the goal is a green economy then you can plan out what to do and how long that would take.
Most people are afraid of/to change - But we all know its coming. Most the the mess in Washington today is because special interests don't want to change - and spend billions to do it. So while the Consumer Market advances quickly - the government is stuck and falling behind.
What needs to happen is to create a plan - where everyone knows what are goals are. If we want to be 100% green (wind/solar) power in 100 years - we add it to the plan. Once our goals are set, and everyone knows the timing, there will be less resistance to change.
